About us

Hey! We’re Amy and Alex, a couple of self-taught home cooks living on the outskirts of Orange, NSW, in a little patch called Spring Creek.

Our BBQ journey kicked off back in 2015 with a vertical charcoal smoker that had been gifted by the in-laws and modified multiple times to improve the cooking. From the very first cook, we were hooked. What started as a weekend hobby quickly turned into a full-blown passion for low’n’slow cooking, smoky flavours, and the simple joy of sharing a good feed.

We spent years learning the basics—watching, reading, trialling, failing, and trying again and repeating it over and over again . As life changed and our little family grew, so did our BBQ setups: from charcoal to offset to pellet, and eventually back to charcoal again once we had a bit more time to play around. Somewhere along the way, we started experimenting with our own rubs and sauces, just for fun—tweaking, perfecting, and writing everything down as we went.

In 2021, we dreamed up Spring Creek BBQ with the idea of one day sharing our flavours with others. Life got busy (as it does), and that dream sat quietly on the back burner for a while… until a family BBQ in 2023 changed everything. Our homemade rubs and sauces ended up stealing the show, and it gave us the nudge we needed to finally get things rolling.

We’re not classically trained chefs—just a couple of flavour-obsessed, BBQ-loving parents who love feeding family and friends. Everything we make is handcrafted with care, tested on our own backyard BBQs, and built from scratch with real ingredients and honest flavour.

We’re so proud of how far we’ve come, and we’re even more excited for what’s ahead. Whether you’re a weekend warrior or just love good food, we hope our rubs and sauces bring a bit of backyard magic to your plate.
